Jeffrey Kantowitz

Jeffrey Kantowitz has nearly twenty years experience in Business and Land Use Litigation. In addition he has considerable expertise in zoning, condemnation and affordable housing (Mount Laurel) law, having represented public and private sector clients in a wide variety of complex, novel and precedent-setting matters before municipal boards, State agencies, and the Federal and State Courts in New Jersey. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Land Use Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He has lectured and published articles on affordable housing and land use and is the co-author of "Zoning and Land Use Litigation" chapter in Matthew Bender's New Jersey Land Use and Environmental Law. Mr. Kantowitz brings a creative and, incisive and pragmatic approach to legal problems.

Jeffrey Kantowitz received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Yeshiva University in 1979 and from Harvard Law School in 1982. After clerking for Justice Alan B. Handler of the New Jersey Supreme Court, he was awarded the Walter D. Head Foundation Fellowship to study land use and law at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. A former secretary of the Newark District Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court, Mr. Kantowitz was an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University Law School, and Attorney for and Chairman of the Fair Lawn Planning Board. He is on of New Jersey's leading lawyers in the area of land use and affordable housing.
